Links Policy

Purpose of This Website

It is one purpose of the MHTP website to provide information to site visitors pertaining to mental health, transformation and related topics.

Links to Other Websites

The MHTP website contains hypertext links to external websites and documents containing information created and maintained by those sites. The MHTP’s webmaster is responsible for the management and oversight of the MHTP’s website. Organizations wishing to establish external links to the site may contact the webmaster at mhtgwebmaster@dshs.wa.gov.

Endorsement and Liability

The inclusion of a link to an external website is not intended as an endorsement of any product, service, or idea referenced on the linked website or the organizations sponsoring that website. Links to external sites are provided as a convenience to you as a site visitor and your access to these sites is done at your own risk. The MHTP is not responsible for any special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages that may arise from the use of, or the inability to use, this site or a 3rd party site that we link to.

Adding A Link to an External Website (or site)

The MHTP staff makes decision on links to external sites using the following guidelines:

  1. The site’s purpose or mission must support that of the MHTP.
  2. The primary purpose of the site shall be to educate and inform. The primary intent of the site shall not be to persuade, convert or sell a product.
  3. The site must not lobby, advocate or advance the policies or priorities of any particular industry, organization, religion or enterprise. This includes sites of non-profit organizations.
  4. The site must be in accordance with the Executive Ethics Board (EEB) Advisory Opinion 04-01.
  5. The site’s owner/sponsor is easily identifiable and information on how to contact the owner is provided.
  6. The site must have a posted Privacy Policy.
  7. The site must meet at least Priority 1 accessibility checkpoints as established by the Worldwide Web Consortium.
  8. The site shall not be a personal site belonging to an individual.
  9. The site shall not be disparaging of any person or class of persons.
  10. The site shall not promote alcohol, tobacco products, or any illegal drug, or illegal activity.
  11. The site shall not be in violation of any advertising or consumer protection laws.
  12. The site shall not contain misleading or unsubstantiated claims.

Removal of a Link

It is the intention of the MHTP website to review all sites which we link to on a periodic basis. If a site no longer meets the criteria outline above it will be removed at the sole discretion of the MHTP staff. Should you discover that the content of an external site linked to from this site has changed and no longer meets the criteria stated in this policy, you are encouraged to contact this site’s webmaster at mhtgwebmaster@dshs.wa.gov.
